世界では、Covid-19との闘いに終わりが見えてきつつあるものの、脱炭素への加速的な流れとともにロシアーウクライナ戦争、天然ガスを中心にした世界的なエネルギー危機、経済不安・インフレ、さらに食料不足へとその社会不安の広がりをみせています。
世界の石油・天然ガス開発においても事業や企業は脱炭素社会への改革力を試されつつも、他方で安定した供給力を如何に維持しながら責務を果たすのかといった基本的な課題も抱えています。
さて、例年この時期にご案内を差し上げているS&P Global社(旧IHS-Markit社)との共同セミナー「Explore Energy」ですが、今年も以下のとおりオンラインで開催します。
今年のセミナーテーマは、“Challenges for achieving both energy security and the energy transition” (エネルギー安全保障とエネルギー移行の両立)とし、関係する3つのトピックスについてS&P Global社のエキスパートが講演します。

米国メキシコ湾CCS事業からのLesson
エネルギーミックスにおける再生可能エネルギーの割合が増加すれば、それは炭素排出量を削減することに繋がるが、CCS 無しにネットゼロを達成することは非常に困難であるという認識が高まっています。
CCSの発展と炭素排出量削減を合わせた相乗効果は、E&P 業界ではよく知られており、地域における炭素隔離のためのハブ (ヨーロッパ、北米、アジア) が CCS の普及、発展に有望な道筋として浮上し、地域の政策がCCSの商業化に向けた事業環境作りを後押ししています。
GOMにおけるCCSの最近の発展を見れば、CCSが未だ初期段階にあるアジア等の他地域におけるCCS事業の推進に有益な情報を提供できると考えられます。
このセッションでは、GOM CCSについて次の視点をから講演します。

将来のポートフォリオを見据えたAdvantaged Basins
E&P企業は、ポートフォリオを、高マージン、低コスト、大規模及び低炭素排出量のBasinに再集中させており、これらを「Advantaged Basins」と分類します。
世界及びアジア太平洋地域で上位にランクされる堆積盆地を見てみると、生産量と排出量という2つの目標を合致させることにより将来の投資へのいくつかの道筋が示唆されます。
このセッションでは、利益、排出量及び埋蔵量の観点から上位のBasinがどこにあるかを述べ、選択されたアジア太平洋の堆積盆地それぞれの特徴を深く掘り下げます。
これにより、日本の E&P 企業に、世界及びアジア太平洋地域での将来のポートフォリオを再考するための方法論を提示します。

このセッションの前半では、企業がいかにエネルギー移行を推し進めるのか、その戦略を検証するとともに、上流投資と投資家の認識に対する幅広いインプリケーションを提供します。後半では、東南アジア地域でのE&P活動を概観しますが、企業戦略とケーススタディを使って企業がどうアジア太平洋のポートフォリオを維持成長できるのか、掘り下げていきます。

Leanne Todd
Global Head of Upstream Solutions, S&P Global Commodity Insights
Leanne Todd is Senior Vice President at S&P Global Commodity Insights and has in-depth knowledge and broad experience across the upstream energy industry. Leanne Todd is Responsible for the product development, content and insights in the global upstream business at S&P Global Commodity Insights. Leanne has in-depth knowledge and broad experience across the Upstream Energy Industry, with her focus on leading digital transformation in upstream and connecting to the Energy Value Chain.
Leanne’s focus has spanned sales, business development, product management and new technology development where she leads a team focused on connecting upstream offerings and creating new offerings & advanced analytics to help companies see new value, reduce risk and lead in the energy transition. Digital transformation strategies and best practices, modern data solutions and commercial and cultural implications to the organization are areas of expertise. She has held executive leadership positions at IHS Markit in Sales and product management and senior leadership roles in energy consulting and software companies.

Bob Fryklund
Chief Upstream Strategist, Upstream Solutions, S&P Global Commodity Insights
Bob is a recognized industry thought leader on all aspects of the Upstream. He advises Boards, CEO's and management teams on strategic direction. He has been involved in many of the industries pivotal projects - TOR acquisition by Petrobras, a $10 billion arbitration; Oil export approval in the US; and restructuring of several of the industries major operators. He focusses on helping companies understand future trends and how to position themselves in the market. He also provides advice on how to build a better narrative for shareholders. Bob has 40 yrs in the industry and has been an senior executive at ConocoPhillips as well as at IHS Markit (Now a part of S&P Global).
He sits on four industry Boards and is chair of the supply and demand committee at the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA). He is a frequent industry executive speaker as well as media source for the major outlets.
Bob holds a BA in Geology from Hamilton College and lives in Houston.

Nick brings close to 20 years of E&P and energy experience. His current mandate is to develop and lead the delivery of our latest regional and global upstream research to clients across the Asia Pacific region. Nick is an experienced leader in delivering our latest insights on exploration/supply outlook, company strategy/performance, valuations/M&A, costs/supply chain, regulatory/fiscal analysis, government policy, and E&P technology & energy transition trends.
Nick previously led S&P Global’s regional advisory practice for 6 years, working with a range of clients (NOCs, IOCs, Independents, Service Companies, Financial Services, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Ministry, and Regulators).
Smarco Ho
Vice President and Head of Energy Sales for Asia-Pacific
Smarco has over 20-years' experience working across various roles in the energy industry and currently responsible for the Energy business focusing on Upstream for S&P Global Commodity Insights.
Prior to joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, Smarco was Vice President at Wood Mackenzie where he spearheaded the Gas & Power segment and Upstream segment focusing on key National oil companies, Independents, and mining companies in the region.
